This grand venue caters for all size weddings with a huge 350 capacity Ballroom for a cocktail reception and 180 for a wedding breakfast. For larger groups at Goodwood House you can enquire about their marquee option. With an in-house bar and catering team, award winning restaurant, disabled access and on-site parking at Goodwood House you cannot fault this spectacular UK wedding venue.
Wow, what a luxury venue. The renowned annual Goodwood Festival of Speed and much loved Goodwood Revival is held at the Goodwood motor racing circuit just around the corner, while up the road to Goodwood House is the aerodrome and world famous, racecourse - what better way to keep your wedding guests entertained, not to mention the Goodwood House hotel within walking distance with its very own Chichester golf course.
I LOVE living on the beautiful Sussex coastline, and feel so lucky that I get to capture beautiful weddings not only all over, but at intimate wedding venues in West Sussex. With over eight years of experience photographing Southend Barns Weddings, it’s firmly become one of my favourite countryside venues.
This page features lots of beautiful photos that I have taken at my clients weddings who hired the gorgeous Southend Barns Wedding venue for their Wedding day - it's exquisite – proof is in the pudding as they say – they WON Best Barn Venue in the UK Wedding Awards 2018 with You and Your Wedding magazine,
Hitched website, and Perfect Wedding magazine, and I am very pleased to offer discounted rates to couples getting married at this romantic wedding venue surrounded by open fields.
I photographed one of the first ever Southend Barns weddings in the Summer of 2012. Since then I have photographed a further 60+ weddings here, at all times of year and in all weathers - every one of them has been divine and an absolute vision! The staff are so professional and friendly, they are a pleasure to work with and even from my clients I have only ever heard amazing things.
Okay, so as a Goodwood House wedding photographer having photographed at many wedding venues in the countryside, all I can say is that this exquisite exclusive-use stately home near Chichester is the epitome of British style. Dating back to the 17th century, Goodwood House has been hosting many extravagant celebrations and weddings from small private affairs to balls of over a thousand people for over 300 years.
In the heart of the South Downs and Sussex countryside their historical Grade I and II listed buildings, and its décor reflecting the Regency period with a plethora of priceless artwork and antique furniture this venue really is on a whole other level.
A truly charming and glamourous entrance to your Goodwood House wedding, filled with paintings including a portrait of Charles II. His mistress descended from the Duke of Richmond lines.
The Front Hall with its high ceilings, chandelier and dramatic floral displays is perfect for your welcome drinks.
This luxury country House in West Sussex is located just outside of Chichester at the foot of the South Downs National park with 12,000 acres of stunning woodland and historic parkland, the views are breathtaking. The ancient cedar tree lined drive gives an impressionable entrance to the house grounds.
As a Goodwood House wedding photographer, this is my favourite room for a larger wedding ceremony of up to 150 guests while having an elegant and romantic setting with chandeliers, sash windows, ornate arches and statues and even an adjacent Card Room full of Sevres porcelain where you can sign the Register.
With our countries interest in ancient Egypt and decorative opulence in the 19th century this room is detailed with gilded cartouches, sphinxes and crocodiles and is perfect for intimate ceremonies of up to 80 and smaller wedding breakfasts of up to 70.
The first time I entered The Ballroom at Goodwood House it honestly left me speechless. Designed in the French style of Louis XV, think candles lit on tall candelabras, red velvet full length curtains hung on sash windows, portraits of Kings and Queens and the Dukes and Duchesses of Richmond and Gordon, and a charming minstrel’s gallery to one end. This room oozes glamour combining romance with opulence
Capacity:
Ceremony 245
Wedding Breakfast 180
Drinks Reception 350
Running parallel to the Ballroom is the Supper Room where you can dance the night away with a live band or DJ, with an adjacent music room for some private moments away from your guests or a little quiet time with friends and loved ones.
One of the smaller more intimate rooms of the house hung with beautiful tapestries and adorned with historic furniture dating back to King Louis XV. From a photographers perspective as you can see here this room is ideal for low light romantic portraits while also having a moment alone.

When a venue has its own private accommodation on its estate you know it must be luxurious. Their private country retreat has 10 unique bedrooms, is filled with pockets of light and even has its own wonderful butler, James (trust me everyone needs a James, I could listen to his Scottish accent all day) and chef! What a way to spend your wedding weekend with your family or bridal party.
With a prime position on the Goodwood Estate within walking distance from Goodwood House and with 91 bedrooms and suites, where better for your weddings guests to stay. They will be well looked after and entertained with a golf course, restaurant, pub and of course a fully equipped health club at their disposal.
The building itself has a grand yet cosmopolitan feel to the interior and is perfect for more intimate weddings who’d still like a big party in the evening. I’m proud to be a recommended wedding photographer at a venue that oozes luminous natural light and has such a modern yet very stylish and classy feel to it.
Located close to the Racecourse, The Kennels is the Goodwood House private member club and with its name, they welcome their members hounds as a second home for them, complete with their very own bowls painted with their names on. The Kennels has beautiful grounds, an on-site car park, in-house bar and a luxurious restaurant.

1. Hire their vintage bus, just envisage your guests all arriving at your Goodwood House wedding in this delightful vintage bus, which will also take your guests back to their hotel at the end of the evening.
2. If you’re after some fun photographs then make use of one of Goodwood's cute Golf buggy’s for some photos and for travelling around the grounds for various backdrops.
3. For a religious ceremonies there are some beautiful Churches locally with my favourite being Boxgrove, Bosham Harbour and Arundel and Chichester Cathedrals.
4. Choose your bridal prep accommodation wisely, or if you’re having a second photographer then groom prep accommodation too – think photos! This makes a huge difference especially in terms of light, colour and space. My clients can read more about this with numerous tips in my Client e-magazine. You will see a list of recommended accommodation near Goodwood House at the end of this page.
5. Workout when golden hour will be on your wedding day and plan for an evening drinks reception with your guests out on the front lawn of the house, the golden light and photos will be divine with the sunset and house as your backdrop.
6. Use the stunning woodland at either Goodwood or Slindon for a pretty pre-wedding or engagement session, or as we're near the Sussex coastline why not head to sand dunes in West Wittering.
7. Book a photographer who has plenty of experience and consistentency in any light situation, later in the day or in the Winter months the house has low light levels particularly in the Yellow Ballroom. As a venue buddy I offer a discount to all weddings at Goodwood House and The Kennels. (*NB. not in conjunction with sales, already discounted packages).
A Little Note...
Being so close to where I live, I have photographed weddings at all three of their wedding venues West Sussex – Goodwood House, The Kennels and The Goodwood Hotel. With your very own luxury wedding planner and a Butler to greet your guests in the Front Hall, the care and attention that goes into each and every one of their weddings is exceptional.
Making your wedding even more personal their head-chef works with you to design a bespoke menu using home-grown organic produce from Goodwood Home Farm – from Goodwood Afternoon tea to fine-dining to medieval feasts, foodies will love it all.
The beauty of Goodwood House is that even when it’s raining, there is plenty of space and gorgeous locations inside for Goodwood House Wedding photos, whether grand images outside or low light romantic portraits in The Tapestry Drawing Room or Egyptian Dining Room.
If you’re looking for country estates for weddings or wedding venues like Froyle Park and Botleys Mansion, I can’t recommend Goodwood House enough, it really is yours for the day and whether you choose to get married in the Yellow Drawing Room or have a Church ceremony with your wedding reception at Goodwood House, you are guaranteed the perfect day.
