A Woodland wedding is just what I’ve been wanting to photograph for such a long time now, so imagine how excited I was when Alex contacted me earlier this year about his outdoor wedding at the Two Woods Estate in Pulborough! Alex one of the two incredibly talented steel drummers from Steel Strum and I have worked with him on numerous occasions at weddings across West Sussex, he’s superb and has been on my Adored Suppliers list (listed in my client website) for quite a few years now.
Alex also owns Clifton Entertainment so I knew this his wedding to Jess would be a lot of fun. And Jess, wow, I only met Jess on the morning of the wedding and she was so lovely and sweet, and a true natural beauty. She knew exactly what she wanted for their wedding and why wouldn’t she – she is a wedding co-ordinator herself and the gorgeous local Farbridge wedding venue.
When I first arrived at Two Woods, I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’d only seen photos online, but I was secretly praying it would be like an outdoor woodland wedding in America, like what I see all over Pinterest! And boy was I happy when I saw these giant redwood trees!!! It was all I’d dreamed of so I cannot imagine how ecstatic Jess and Alex must have been to wake up that day to glorious sunshine for their outdoor woodland wedding.
Arriving at bridal prep I was so pleased to see a huge room, white, minimal and oozing with natural light and light pockets through the skylights, it was just perfect for photos. With Jess’ mum and all of the bridesmaids the morning was full of giggles and I was so pleased to meet the awesome Natasha and Sophie from Moonflower Films, they were an absolute pleasure to work with and we had such a laugh.
Jess had the very talented Tia Bliss Hair and make-up create her look, which went perfectly with her Essence of Australia gown.
It wasn’t long before we were heading through the estate toward the ceremony in the woods and the whole setting was just dreamy. Alex was so emotional as his bride-to be walked up the aisle and it was lovely to be able to have the opportunity to move around the woods and capture this gorgeous ceremony from every angle. Jess and Alex were married by Claire Bradford from Creating Ceremony who made it so special and joyful.
From the many bands, to the group photos in the woodland, to Jess and Alex dancing outside to their bands, and then having some beautiful sun flare for their evening portraits – their wedding was truly magical and I can honestly say that it was such a pleasure capturing this special woodland wedding at such a sensational venue and for such a wonderful, gorgeous couple. I really don’t need to say more as I feel these pictures speak for themselves, but before I leave you to have a nose, I just have to say a big thank you to Alex and Jess for having me there to photograph your special day and an even bigger congratulations to you both.
Be sure to check out their dream team at the end. xoxo
