Awwwwwww LOVE this couple! Dave & Grace booked me ages ago for their gorgeous November Winter Wedding and I couldn’t wait. We had spoken when we first met and in the lead up to their big day about all of their plans and ideas. Having both worked in the theatre and also having met there, I knew this would play a big part in their theme and day.
This adorable couple has to be one of my favourite couples to date, they’re relaxed, friendly, up for anything, wanted outdoor romantic portraits irrlevant of the rain and are just, well, super-cute! It was an absolute pleasure photographing these two, and I know the super talented Bev, who was second shooting for me on the day felt exactly the same. The heavens opened for their cold winter wedding, and fortunately it was only light rain, this didn’t phase Dave and Grace one bit, they giggled and smiled all day.
Grace wore a stunning gown by Lucy Bennett from David’s Bridal wedding store and she looked truly elegant, in fact exquisite is the only way I can think of describing her look this day, her sister, Clare, had styled her hair and she wore the most beautiful hairpiece from Lottie Loves Vintage hair accessories, which had an elegant vintage feel to it suiting her dress and look perfectly. Grace’s sister, Clare Harsant, also made her earrings, they’re called Earwings and you can find these at Potter & Mooch handmade jewellery Grace’s bridesmaids wore a lovely short navy paisley dresses from Spitafields Market in London in London, while Dave and his groomsmen looked dapper in grey suits from Jeff Banks mens suit store and Youngs Suit Hire. This was my first of two winter weddings at the beautiful Southend Barns for this weekend and made a fabulous start to our weekend.
Southend Barns Chichester wedding venue is luscious, it’s authentic and modern all rolled into one. It doesn’t matter how many times I blog weddings at this venue, I never get bored of it. Just check out the photos! Dave and Grace’s ceremony took place in the Dairy Barn which flows with natural light, this lovely pair were are smiles and looks of love, apart from a bit of an emotional start from Dave who was clearly overwhelmed when he saw his beautiful wife-to-be. I have to say the confetti throw was the most challenging yet when the newlyweds unexpectedly sprinted through everyone towards us, haha.
The wedding breakfast and evening reception was held in the Threshing Barn, it has a certain warmth to it for this time of year, almost Christmassy, with all of the authentic wooden beams and features, this was decorated beautifully with floral arrangements by Grace’s Mum herself, Carol Frean, and then exquisite food and service as always by Field & Fork wedding caterers. The Swallow Bakery had also supplied the most delicious looking cake.
What a truly fantastic atmosphere it was at this wedding, from the mood, to the lovely friendly guests to the incredible band, The Super Luckies.
Grace and Dave’s wedding was just perfect, there’s no other way to describe it, and I adored working with them, they made Bev and I feel so welcome, and like a part of the wedding.
A massive Congratulations to you both. I wish you every bit of happiness for your future as husband and wife.
