What glorious sunshine for a Southend Barns wedding day, and this one felt particularly special as the groom, Tom, was in the year below me at school back in Surrey (many moons ago), and I also knew quite a few guests which always makes for an extra exciting day. Tom’s bride-to-be Danielle had chosen an absolutely exquisite Enzoani dress which was perfectly fitted to her svelte figure. The bridal prep took place in the Milking Parlour at the barns which oozes natural light and so is a firm favourite of mine for bridal prep, or groom prep for that matter, and while photographing the bridal details I came across a coy flowergirl in Danielle’s shoes! She was so cute, as you’ll see from the pics! Danielle was joined by her lovely bridesmaids who wore Misguided dresses from ASOS and later in the morning Tom and Danielle’s adorable 1 year old son, Jacob, joined the girls to get ready for the big day ahead.
The ceremony took place in the lovely white Dairy Barn and with the sun gleaming for this Southend Barns wedding day it was full of light. Tom and his groomsmen wore black tie from Moss Bros suit hire and Tom also paired this with a pair of classic Louboutin shoes with the red sole. One of my favourite photos during this ceremony was Tom’s face when he saw his bride!
As far as a Southend Barns wedding day goes, and I see a lot (view Southend Barns wedding portfolio, this one was pretty perfect, the weather was beautiful, they had Alex from Steel Strums entertaining the guests in the sunshine, flowers by the inspirational Emma at Wild & Green Floristry, the Bride and Groom just being so so lovely and the guests were a really warm, welcoming crowd who knew how to have fun! Some of my other favourite photos from the day are of the flowergirl and pageboy, not just the candids but trying to capture one of them together, I really love the ones where they don’t want the photo and one is trying to make the other smile, these to me show the children’s personalities more and make the moment.
Now everyone who follow me on instagram knows I love evening portraits at Twilight when the light is soft and flattering, it’s actually also one of the reasons I love a Southend Barns wedding day as the sun sets over the back field making an ideal backdrop for photos. I took some lovely pics of Tom and Danielle, just before Danielle changed into a shorter dress and they surprised everyone with a performance of the dance “Now it’s the Time of my Life” from Dirty Dancing! and….. they nailed it… including the lift! This was followed by an evening partying with the awesome band Sugar band from Toast Functions.
Thank you so very much for choosing to have me as your wedding photographer, I had such a wonderful day capturing your Southend Barns wedding day. A huge congratulations to you both!
