A Spring wedding is always going to be really unpredictable weather wise, and despite the cooler light and lower sun earlier in the day, anyone would think that it was a summer wedding. The weather was glorious and as I was starting the day at Southend Barns with no bridal prep, I was able to get straight into detail shots, room set-up and capturing the guests arriving.
The Groom, Dave, seemed so relaxed and chilled, welcoming his guests and having a laugh with his best men. The barns as always looked sensational decorated and adorned with flowers by the very talented, Rococo wedding Florist, the guests smiling and the sky beautifully blue – all set for a perfect Spring Wedding.
Karen arrived looking absolutely divine in a Ronald Joyce wedding dress from Truly Gorgeous bridal store, and Dave was certainly taken back when he shed a few tears as she walked up the aisle in the dairy Barn. It was a really intimate ceremony with some giggles and lots of heartfelt readings, this was followed by a confetti throw that left Dave blowing the confetti off Karen’s head!!! I dread to think how much fell from her dress that evening.
With this being a more than ideal Spring wedding the guests enjoyed the day reception in the collecting yard of Southend Barns, on the lawn playing garden games. It was lovely to see so many making use of the games while I worked my way through a not too long group photo list. We chose to take the bridal party photos in the pretty that sits outside the bridal suite. The sun was low and quite harsh but by the time it came for me to whisk Karen and Dave away for their couple portraits the light was luscious and soft and perfect for intimate moments and giggles to be captured!
After some hilarious and superb speeches, and some delicious food, which I thoroughly enjoyed with my assistant Charleigh, who I should mentioned joined me for this gorgeous Spring Wedding, and who did a super job at capturing some “up the aisle” shots for me during the ceremony! … I then noticed the sun was starting to set, I watched it like a hawk, until I knew it was the perfect time to get Karen and Dave into the crop field out the back of the venue for some romantic evening portraits – well done Karen for clambering through those long crops! It was totally worth it even just for the silhouette shots!
This lot certainly knew how to dance the night away, helped by the brilliant band, The Toons wedding band, Karen and Dave kicked it off with an incredible first dance, which then got everyone on the dancefloor for a bit of fun and boogying.
Karen and Dave, it was a blast and you two have been fantastic throughout. I hope you’ve had the most awesome honeymoon in Malaysia (not jealous at all!) and I hope you love your photos. And once more, CONGRATULATIONS! xoxo
