What an awesome couple! Pete & Laura have to be one of the nicest and most relaxed couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. The heavens opened for their Southend Barns Chichester summer wedding, and it really did pour down for most of the day, but you never would have known by how happy and relaxed Pete and Laura were.
Laura wore the most elegant Mori Lee bridal gown from Whyte Weddings dress store and she looked sensational, she has doll like porcelain skin and platinum hair which she had in a classy high bun. Laura’s bridesmaids wore a mix of green and pink dresses from Asos, while Pete and his groomsmen looked dapper in modern blue suits from Next. This was my last Summer wedding at the beautiful Southend Barns Chichester wedding venue and despite the lack of sun or blue sky it really was so pretty.
Southend Barns Chichester wedding venue is stunning, and as you would have seen many times on my blog it never fails to please, no matter what the weather, theme or size wedding, every wedding here leaves everyone smiling. I spent the morning with such a friendly group of girls, and was in my element capturing all the details as always. When the time came for Pete and Laura’s ceremony, Alice and the Southend Barns and Field & Fork team were all ready waiting with the umbrellies outside the bridal suite ready to keep the girls dry. Their ceremony of course took place in the Dairy Barn which flows with natural light, their were lots of tears in the reading, and one of the guests reading couldn’t quite catch her words, it really added to the emotion of the day.
The wedding breakfast and evening reception was held in the Threshing Barn, it has a certain warmth to it with all of the authentic wooden beams and features, this was decorated beautifully with floral arrangements by Rococo florist in Chichester, and then exquisite food and service as always by Field & Fork wedding caterers, and an elegantly designed cake made by Mia Tambini at Fat Cakes wedding cakes Sussex
One thing that was a complete first for me was photographing Owls, yep you read that right, Laura loves Owls and so they had a visit from some Owls and a trainer to talk about them, guests were stroking and some even holding the Owls, it was so nice to be capturing something different at a wedding! This was later followed by a fantastic ceilidh band adding to the fun atmosphere in the barn.
Laura and Pete’s wedding was truly gorgeous, and I just loved working with this couple, they made me feel so welcome, and it certainly didn’t feel like a day at work.
A massive Congratulations to you both, Pete & Laura. I wish you every bit of happiness for your future as hubby and wifey.
