Goodwood House wedding venue – end of the Summer, going into Autumn, late ceremony, sun flare, big hats, Jimmy Choo‘s, grand historic estate, vintaged bus… who wouldn’t want this?!
This spectacular venue is literally a five minute drive from my house and I have been desperate to photograph a Goodwood House wedding for years, so I was super excited when James and Sarah booked me for their September wedding. 

The weather was perfect for a Goodwood House wedding, the sun was shining, the sky was blue and with a 4pm Ceremony this meant that we had a gorgeous low sun for all of the photos, and I just love a bit of sun flare. 

Sarah got ready with her bridesmaids at The Goodwood Hotel next door where Lucy and her team from ID prepped the girls with their award winning make-up and hair skills. Sarah is gorgeous, a tall leggy blonde who fit perfectly into this stunning snug Enzoani wedding dress. She’s an absolute dream to photograph, who giggles, a lot and the room was just filled with girly chats, make-up, laughs and emotion.  In the meantime, my second shooter Clare met up with the Groom, James, and his groomsmen at Goodwood House for some pics, I just love the one of James wondering off practising his speech and all the candids captured pre-ceremony and of course the guests being taken to the House in the venues own green vintage Goodwood Bus.

The ceremony took place in the beautiful Yellow Drawing Room adorned by stunning floral displays by Sue Vaughan. James and Sarah have a fantastic sense of humour and there were lots of giggles and emotion throughout. James has the most expressive face and I’m sure this is one thing that Sarah must love about him, he’s certainly not one that can hide his emotions! Just check out that excited look on his face when he first saw Sarah walking up the aisle!

Everything about this venue just flows, especially on a day like this. It really was the perfect Goodwood House wedding. I chose to take the formal group photos in the courtyard as it meant keeping the groups in one place, having no one wondering off, a beautiful backdrop and the surrounding buildings shaded them from the low sun. The light here was just perfect for group photos and I love the neutral colours.

With the sun shining, the guests looked fabulous in sunglasses and grand hats drinking and snacking on canapés on the front lawn. The sun lowered and sat perfectly just in time for some couple portraits of James and Sarah before heading into the Ballroom for their Goodwood House wedding breakfast, you just have to look at the photos to see just how grand the ballroom looked, it is exquisite! With some hilarious and touching speeches, some awesome personalities at this wedding and wild dancers, the atmosphere was amazing and by the time I left just after the first dance, the party was really going wild. 

What a wonderful wedding. Enjoy viewing…
