When Peter contacted me asking for a pre-wedding shoot in Leeds, I didn’t realise how different this would be. Not only would Gloria be wearing a selection of dresses including weddings gowns, Peter & Gloria also wanted this over two days as they wished to cover a lot of different locations – not your normal locations for a photography backdrop, but instead places which were close to heart, held memories for Peter as he grew up in Leeds and went to school in Sheffield.
With Peter & Gloria living in Hong Kong we spoke and made plans via Skype and with the help of Dropbox. We never set an exact date but decided on the week it would be in October while they were over on vacation. Once they were in the country we then set a date for the shoot as we had more of an idea on the weather forecast. It wasn’t a great week for weather anyway but it was very typically English so I think it suited the shoot being here, although it was a bit of a shock for Gloria being in such cold temperatures and cold winds especially while wearing strapless dresses!
I stayed at a small cottage in Whitby with this lovely couple. We took photos here in the garden, at a friends pub, in a field with sheep, another field with horses! As well as an RAF Museum (Peter is in the Air Force in HK and even wore his uniform), Whitby town, Pier, Abbey and even a little cafe for some milkshake! We finished the shoot at Peter’s childhood school, where he holds many memories.
Peter & Gloria are the cutest couple and will be getting married over New Year back in Hong Kong. I wish them the very best for the Wedding day – I hope it’s everything you imagined it would be and have an amazing future together.
