You may have seen the lush photos on the blog in June from Jenny & Shaun’s engagement shoot, this couple are naturally gorgeous. Being the second wedding we photographed at Southend Barns this weekend, we arrived early to see what different set up we had had for the day. Jenny and Shaun had chosen to take a step back in time for their wedding day! With all things vintage and country the Threshing Barn looked amazing. With a vintage typewriter, old books, wooden crates, candelabras, antique lace, frames with photos from relatives wedding days, and an old camera, which I added to with my collection of vintage medium format film cameras and 8mm Cine-camera. The Barn looked awesome and had been decorated with luscious flowers by Meera at Full Bloom in vases and on books and lanterns. Jenny and her maids arrived looking fresh and gorgeous having just had their make-up done by Lucy at the ID salon in Chichester, along with the maids hair. Kayla the Chief Bridesmaid was doing Jenny’s bridal hairstyle (youtube inspired!), and so Jenny had a bit of time to spend getting everything perfect with the decor.
With the Bridesmaids wearing pastel pink maxi’s, Jenny shone in the most splendid of wedding gowns, it suites this vintage inspired wedding to perfection and layered Jenny’s elegant frame with style, being a natural beauty, this dress was perfect for Jenny, keeping it a simple style yet with elegant detail and exuding grace and beauty and flowing just a little across the floor as she walked. All of the girls looked sensational and so we couldn’t wait to see Shaun and his Best Man Jamie at the Church.
Marrying at a local Church in Hunston, St Leodegar, this was a small ceremony just right for this intimate couple. Shaun and Jay looked fantastic in dapper grey suits oozing class. I love this colour suit, and always feel like it works well with Southend Barns. I have to say that I don’t think I’ve ever seen a couple laugh and smile so much throughout a wedding ceremony, being Childhood sweethearts since they just sixteen, you could tell this couple are also the best of friends. Fully comfortable with each other, they giggled the whole way through and it was so lovely to be able to capture this on camera. I can’t wait to share lots of them on here.
Back at Southend Barns for the reception, the fantastic Field & Fork were on hand to see the day running smoothly and to bring around some extremely tasty canapes, my favourite was definitely the Pork Belly, if you’re marrying here, you just have to try this, it was mouth wateringly delicious, and VERY moreish!
The whole day ran ridiculously smoothly! It was sooo relaxed, we loved it. There was no rushing, no trying to fit photos in, no speeches over-running, everything was just perfect and the atmosphere and feeling of the day was sublime.
Keeping with the Vintage feel, we made sure we captured some photos of Shaun and Jenny by the old barns with the vintage cameras, these are some of my favourites from the day. They were also lucky enough to keep this good weather throughout their day meaning they were able to cut their heavenly cake out on the lawn. With evening guests then arriving to party to their band Riot.
We left Jenny and Shaun enjoying themselves on the dance floor and we’re sure they would have gone on to enjoy the rest of their evening before jetting off the next day to the Maldives (jealous much!).
We hope you are having an incredible time on your honeymoon and we would like to say Congratulations and a big thank you for having us their to capture your day. Here’s a little sneak peek for you, with more to be added here soon!
