What does a Consultation involve?
A friendly chat over tea and cake to chat about your wedding ideas, your photography, my service, my clients, prices, and a chance for you to look through my portfolio and view some of my albums. The best part of a consultation is meeting one another and seeing, more than anything, if you can see yourself having me around on your big day!
What do you need from us to secure a booking?
A signed contract along with your £500 non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your wedding date. A contract is put in place for obvious reasons to protect both you as clients and myself as your photographer.
Do we have any contact with you in the lead up to the wedding?
I am always here to give you advice in the lead up to your "big day", being that I see so many sensational and varied weddings I like to think I can offer a wealth of advice and supplier recommendations for many aspects of your wedding day. Building a good relationship with my clients is a huge advantage and so I try to go that extra mile, and encourage clients to call if they need any advice. I also send clients a link to the Adorlee Secret Website for Adorlee clients only, which is full of ideas, a list of my favorite vendors, Adorlee e-magazine and tips to help you keep organised. I will also be in contact nearer to your big day with a standard photo list form and to arrange either a meet-up or a phone-call to run through any final details and times.
Do you offer extra hours or a Pre-Wedding shoot?
I keep things simple by offering three base packages for weddings as these should cover all of your needs. However, if you would like a pre-wedding photoshoot, or extra coverage on your wedding day then these can be added to your package from my a'la carte section in the Price Guide. Will you do a venue visit?
If I have never worked at your venue before and it is local, then I can do a venue visit, and if you are local too then I like to schedule this in with a pre-wedding meet to discuss any final details. For weddings further afield or overseas, I shall visit the venue the day before your wedding or on the morning of, once I have arrived. Pre wedding chats can be via telephone, facetime or skype. If you are worried that I haven't worked at your venue before please ask to see wedding galleries of my first times at venues so you can rest assured that you really need not worry. A good photographer will produce just as good photos a first time at a venue. If meeting me beforehand then ask to see my sample Queensberry album - this showcases the first wedding I ever photographed at Southend Barns.
How long do we need a photographer for on the day?
I believe in telling a story of your day and therefore only offer 9 and 11 hour packages and a 7 hour hour coverage for shorter later weddings. Unless otherwise requested, I start photographing bridal prep from approximately 2 hours before your ceremony through to just after your first dance, or work your coverage with your day and timeline. If you are planning fireworks or having your exit captured on camera, extra hours can be added to your package at £150 per hour. *Bespoke packages and coverage are available upon request.
Should we supply food for our photographer?
Yes please. This is a long day and lots of work, I do require one hot meal (as well as one for my second photographer if booked), and this should be at the same time that you and your guests eat so that we can stay on the same schedule. However, we do not request to be seated with your guests or a 3 course meal like your guests. We just need to be fed and watered ;)
Do you require a list of photos that we want to be taken on the day?
This is only relevant for the formal family group photos. It is best to keep these to a minimum, and I recommend approximately 6-8 groups with a maximum of 10 (this is not including your photos with your bridal party) to enable a decent amount of time to have your important Bride & Groom portraits. I do ask that you also advise me of any extra special moments you have planned for the day which you would like captured such as your cousin singing during the signing of the register or if you have booked surprise singing waiters/ fireworks and so on.
When will we see our photos?
Unless requested otherwise, a small selection of 5-10 photos from your wedding day can be shown on the Adorlee instagram / facebook page or in a private online gallery within a few days of your wedding, over the following week or two I can post a larger sneak peak on the Adorlee blog. I will contact you as soon as all of your images are ready. During the high season this can take up to 6 weeks - I am a true perfectionist and therefore will not rush the editing process.
What happens after our wedding?
Once I have finished capturing your story, the real work begins - Firstly a sneak peak of your photos may be showcased on my blog (unless otherwise requested). With the RAW image files in hand, the post production begins, with editing (or as I call it - wediting), retouching, colour correcting, dramatic edits, processing and archiving your images. If you have purchased an album or even just requested a pre-design sample for consideration, I shall then create a bespoke design to suit you, your photos and your individual day. You will be provided with your USB of high resolution print-ready images along with your very own designated URL web address for your private online gallery to share with your guests. This includes unlimited downloads for one year!
Do you edit the photos yourself?
Yes, I edit them myself, individually, in Adobe Lightroom and then lightly retouch them in Adobe Photoshop. Intensive digital retouching is available as an extra, however, as standard I will make sure that any spots or skin blemishes are removed or softened, and any back fat is tucked in. You will be presented with both black & white and colour versions of each of your photos.
What type of albums do you offer?
After years of researching and trying numerous album suppliers, I now only use the best in the business; Queensberry of New Zealand for both their sensational bespoke handmade albums and their impeccable service, and Folio Albums or Loxley Colour for a more relaxed beautiful storybook style of album. Who chooses the photos for our album?
I design each album to suit you, the day, and your photos. I choose the photos as this can be extremely time consuming for the couple, although I always check if you have any favourites to display as the larger feature images in your design, or anything that you'd rather not have included. With your wedding album guaranteed to be a family heirloom, I want it to be perfect for you. Proof layouts will be emailed to you for your approval, this way you can advise me of any changes you would like. Orders will not be placed until I have received confirmation that you are happy with your design.
Are you willing to travel long distance for our wedding?
Yes, most definitely. I photograph nationally in the UK and also destination weddings and corporate events abroad. I welcome any opportunity to be in the sunshine! In England travel is charged at 45p per mile (first hour is free). For long distances in England I am always happy to negotiate a travel price. Depending on times and distance, on occasion, overnight accommodation may be required for the night prior to your wedding day. For international assignments, taxi's or car rental and food are also to be paid by the client.
What equipment do you use?
Oh yes, I am Team Canon, photographing with two Canon 5D Mark IV's, Canon Speedlites 600EX, and all Canon lenses including my babies - Canon primes: my 50mm f1.2 and my 85mm f1.2. My second shooters use a selection of prime and zoom lenses from the 16-35mm f2.8, 24-70 mkII, to the 70-200 f2.8 and next on the list is the Canon 11-24 extreme wide angle - it's lush, unfortunately comes with a HUGE pricetag!
Do you have insurance?
I am insured with Aaduki Multimedia Insurance, which includes cover for equipment, public liability, and professional indemnity to ensure you and I are fully covered.
Are we able to have a second photographer?
A second photographer is available as an add-on in the a'la Carte section of my pricelist. Your main photographer will be myself, Nicci, and then you would have one of my talented second photographers. Read more about my second photographers here.
Who owns the copyright on our photos?
When you purchase a USB drive of your photos (included in your package) you are purchasing a shared copyright and print release, this is for your own personal print use and for use on your social networking profiles such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The photographer always owns the copyright, therefore I share the copyright with you enabling Adorlee Weddings & Events to use the photos for self promotion on this website, in magazines, editorials, exhibitions, books and other media purposes. However, any public display use by me must be agreed by you first and this is of course, at your own discretion. If you would like me to contact you first before using any images to check you are happy with my choice, I am always more than happy to do so. Please do let me know if you are in a position (perhaps of authority) where your images cannot be used for public display.
Do you have privacy policies/ confidential contracts in place?
Upon request VIP arrangements (confidentiality agreements) will be put in place to protect privacy and press interest, therefore any photos used for public display by Adorlee for self-promotion, will need to be agreed in writing by the client.
