Happy New Year everyone! It was close but I made it just in time to see in the New Year with my 2018 best wedding photography! I can’t wait to return to photographing gorgeously dressed up Brides and Grooms in April, but for now I am really looking forward to catching up on blog posts (yes I know, I have been slack), editing beautiful pics, and spending some well deserved time with my family and also now planning a wedding – yep I’m engaged!!! My gorgeous, now fiancé, whisked me off my feet earlier this month with a proposal on one knee and a long weekend away to New York City to see the Christmas lights and more – how lucky am I!
Anyway, although I am still on cloud 9, I thought I really should join the party and do a final wrap up on my 2018 best wedding photography.
There isn’t an easy way to narrow down my favourites. I’ve tried different systems but with the thousands of images captured in one year I just lose track. There’s soooo many luscious photos, it was a real struggle. There are far too many images in this post…. I’m well aware. I’m quite sure my hosting provider, ShowIT, is too!
So here’s the best of Adôrlee 2018 best wedding photography and more.
This annual post allows me to look back and see all of the work that makes me proud and show them off all in one place! These images aren’t all of my best technical shots….they aren’t all perfectly composed or exposed…. they are not technically perfect. Instead I selected these images because they make me FEEL something when I look at them! Many of these photos made the cut because of the circumstances they were shot in! When in the midst of a crazy busy wedding one of us (me or one of my amazing second shooters) captured a gorgeous photo… that makes me so proud! When I was just in the right place at the right time – that decisive moment as Henri Cartier-Bresson once said! This post is a collection of my 2018 wedding photography and work that reminds me of why I love my job! Looking back at these images brings back so many memories and different emotions. I absolutely love them!! Believe it or not… I’m REALLY hard on myself when it comes to my work. I am forever criticising my work… sometimes I compare it to others… sometimes I convince myself that I don’t have that creative flair anymore! I know this seems silly, but it’s human nature, we all do it and I know that without my fellow wedding photographers – my friends and virtual Syncette colleagues – you know who you are, I would not be where I am today, you girls gave me so much support throughout 2018 and even prior to this and I can’t thank you lovely ladies enough!
2018 brought me so many memories, I captured couples getting hitched, having just gotten engaged, beautiful maternity shoots, adorable newborn babies, family photos via my family photography website, and some awesome performers but here are the Weddings – The LOVE. Looking back through my photos I can see that I still create unique shots and come up with beautiful compositions…. each year I get better and better at finding the BEST light and the best ways to edit. I am a good photographer, I still have so much to learn but I have a talent. I still spend far too much time trying to achieve perfection, but I love my career and all the amazing people I’ve been fortunate enough to work with!! After over 10 years as a wedding and portrait photographer, and 8 years photographing huge events, I can’t believe that I actually get to do this for a living, that my hobby is my career… and to all those photographers still working your way up, remember that this doesn’t come from a place of full confidence, I struggle with that just like everyone else!
I hope you enjoy just this small selection of some of my 2018 best wedding photography – the moments, some romantic, funny, crazy, emotional, poignant or simply beautiful, that make me fall in love with photography over and over again!!!! I can’t wait to see what 2019 will bring, I already have so many exciting weddings booked in and lots of beautiful couples that I know are going to be so much fun to work with. I would love to just take this opportunity to thank my amazing clients from 2018 wedding photography, you have been the most fun, gorgeous, lovely and adorable couples I could have ever had the chance to work with, without you I would be nothing, I can’t thank you guys and gals enough. A huge congratulations to all of you!
