The images that make me smile, laugh or simply feel!
There isn’t an easy way to narrow down my favourites. I’ve tried different systems but with the thousands of images captured in one year I just lose track. So when Paul asked me to select my favourites from weddings I photographed in 2014 I really struggled. There are far too many images in this post…. I’m well aware. I’m quite sure the hosting provider is too! So here’s the best of weddings from 2014.
This annual post allows me to look back and see all of the work that makes me proud and show them off all in one place! These images aren’t all of our best technical shots….they aren’t all perfectly composed or exposed…. they are not technically perfect. Instead I selected these images because they make me FEEL something when I look at them! Many of these photos made the cut because of the circumstances they were shot in! When in the midst of a crazy busy wedding one of us (me or our amazing second shooters, Tim or Simon) captured a gorgeous portrait… that makes us so proud! Or when one of us tried something NEW and produced a gorgeous or touching image. When I was just in the right place at the right time – that decisive moment as Henri Cartier Bresson once said! This post is a collection of our 2014 work that reminds me of why I love my job! Looking back at these images they bring back so many memories and different emotions. I absolutely love them!! Believe it or not… I’m REALLY hard on myself when it comes to my work. I am forever criticising my work… sometimes I compare it to others… sometimes I convince myself that I don’t have that creative flair anymore! I know this seems silly, but it’s human nature, we all do it. Doing a post like this reminds me that I’ve still got it, and so have Adorlee’s amazing second shooters!!!!
After years of capturing couples getting hitched or having just gotten engaged, I still LOVE wedding photography…. I still create unique shots and come up with beautiful compositions…. each year I get better and better at finding the BEST light and the best ways to edit. I am a good photographer, I have a talent. I still spend far too much time trying to achieve perfection, but I love my career and all the amazing couples I’ve been fortunate enough to work with!! After 7+ years as a wedding photographer, I can’t believe that I actually get to do this for a living, that my hobby is my career… and to all those photographers still working your way up, remember that this doesn’t come from a place of full confidence, I struggle with that just like everyone else!
I hope you enjoy just this small selection of my 2014 images that make me fall in love with photography over and over again!!!! Happy August everyone, I can’t wait to see what Adorlee brings!!!!!
My gorgeous friend Anna in the zone after lots of champagne at her wedding in Tuscany! Love these.
Now these photos below are favourites of mine as they’re so different – this was the last wedding of 2014 and the Bride is an old friend from school. Emma & Gavin wanted a vintage feel to their photos from their Vintage Styled Brighton Wedding. What do you think???
I love this one of Gavin pulling that face above captured by simon!
Thanks again for viewing! Here’s to Future Weddings now with Adorlee… yay
