As you have probably seen on many occasions on our blog, we are lucky enough to photograph weddings at Southend Barns a lot, this rustic barn with all of its vintage features and modern touches is just gorgeous and we were extremely excited about this wedding. Every wedding is different, the couples ideas, looks, and styles can completely change this venue. Anne-Catrin and Guy are friends of Mariella & William’s who are the talented couple who created this stunning venue! When Anne-Catrin first came to see us, we could tell by her excitement over her new Jimmy Choos that this was going to be one gorgeous wedding with class. She told me that her daughter, along with Mariella’s daughter and two more of their friends would be bridesmaids, and WOW did these girls blow us away! Anne-Catrin had chosen some simply beautiful dresses from I Love Gorgeous in Notting Hill. They were so well suited to this age and the sage green colours worked perfectly with this rustic venue and English Country Garden theme (in sage green, ivory and duck egg blue). This is the theme used to put their florist Rococco in the right direction, and boy did they exceed expectations, not only with the perfectly themed bouquets, but just look at the photos of the Threshing Barn where they decorated the hanging chandeliers with these sensational blooms.
Back to the Bride… she wore, none other than… VERA WANG! and who would expect less when paired with Jimmy Choos, a Cartier bracelet and Tiffany earrings. Anne-Catrin looked so elegant in this amazing gown and with a peony in her tousled brunette locks styled by Charissa from Charizma Hair, who also did the gorgeous make-up. I am quite sure that Guy was blown away, and speaking of Guy, he also looked extremely dapper, in navy with a tie, and along with his best man.
Despite the rain throughout the day, the sun appeared just in time for their late afternoon ceremony in the Dairy Barn. Although a little overcast at times, the day went magnificently and I adore these photos taken by none other than myself and Simon.
Before I move on, I must say how well the Bridesmaids did with their readings, what a performance; absolutely full of charisma, they said the most beautiful readings from Winnie the Pooh and the guests thoroughly enjoyed them.
With Anne-Catrin asking for a lot of focus to be put on the Bridesmaids in terms of photos, I took the opportunity to take the girls off on a couple of occasions for some great photos. These girls and their friends were absolutely amazing, such a confident, well mannered and fun group! Being a mum to a son of a similar age, I thoroughly enjoyed the company of these girls who loved the camera a lot as you can see below!
Guy and Anne-Catrin had a fantastic crowd, with the family of the bride travelling over from Germany, there was a friendly, happy and excited atmosphere. The food was of course by Field & Fork, and it was delicious as always. Phil, Janet and the rest of the staff definitely did this couple proud.
The whole day was such a giggle and I couldn’t write this without saying a huge thank you to Guy and Anne-Catrin for choosing us to capture your perfect day. You are such a lovely couple, you both looked gorgeous and I sincerely wish you both the very best for the future as husband and wife. We can’t wait to show you the rest of your photos and I hope you enjoy looking through these and remember your lovely day.
